About Rosthwaite Farm
A family estate with a passion for horses, a commitment to excellence, and a vision for the future of equestrian sport.
The Arkins Family Legacy
Rosthwaite Farm was purchased by the Arkins family in 2013, a decision born from a shared love of horses and a vision to create something extraordinary in the Southern Highlands. What began as a modest property with big dreams has been carefully transformed into one of the region's premier equestrian destinations.
The family's journey in equestrian sport spans decades. From grassroots competitions to the international stage, the Arkins name has become synonymous with excellence, integrity, and a genuine passion for the horse. That same spirit now permeates every corner of Rosthwaite Farm, from the riding school arena to the competition stables and the welcoming accommodation.
Over the years, the property has been thoughtfully developed with world-class facilities, including specialist training areas, and premium accommodation for both horses and humans. Every decision, every investment, has been guided by a single question: does this help us deliver a better experience for our horses, our riders, and our guests?
Today, Rosthwaite Farm stands as a testament to that vision, a place where the equestrian lifestyle is not just practised, but celebrated.
What Rosthwaite Farm Is Today
A multifaceted equestrian estate serving the Southern Highlands community and beyond.
Today, Rosthwaite Farm is a multifaceted equestrian estate that serves the Southern Highlands community and beyond. Our riding school introduces hundreds of children and adults to the joy of horsemanship each year. Our performance program, led by international showjumper James Arkins, develops competitive riders and horses for the highest levels of the sport.
Our accommodation offers visitors a chance to experience the beauty and tranquillity of the Southern Highlands, with premium lodging set among the rolling paddocks and mature gardens of the estate. And through Rosthwaite International, we connect Australian equestrian talent with the global stage, sourcing horses, facilitating sales, and providing training opportunities across Europe and beyond.
But beyond the facilities and the programs, Rosthwaite Farm is a community. It is a place where families come to learn, where competitors come to train, and where everyone, from the youngest beginner to the seasoned professional, is welcomed as part of the Rosthwaite family.
